NPTE – Cardiovascular rehabilitation (from IER)

Exercise Tolerance Test (ETT) (Graded exercise test): Purpose
Determine physiological responses during a measured exercise stress (increasing workloads).
Allows determination of functional exercise capacity of an individual.

Bases for exercise prescription.
Symptom limited ETT is typically administered prior to start of phase 2 outpatient cardiac rehab and following rehab as an outcome measure.

Screening measure for CAD in asymptomatic people.

Exercise Tolerance Test (ETT) (Graded exercise test): ETT with radionucleotide perfusion
Assistes in the diagnosis of suspected or established cardiovascular disease.

Exercise Tolerance Test (ETT) (Graded exercise test): Mode of testing
Treadmill/ergometer: Allows for precise parameters

Step test (upright or sitting) – For healthy population
